Welcoming Newcomers
In the spring 2025, a group of UBCO writing and art students visited, studied and consulted about Woodhaven Nature Conservancy, and with the Friends of Woodhaven Nature Conservancy they created a package of art, information and story for newcomers to the area.
If you know anyone who has recently (within the past year) moved into the neighbourhood, you can send us their address and we’ll personally deliver a package to them free of charge.
The Welcome Package Includes:
1) A booklet of poems and activities about the creatures and plants of the park
2) A booklet of stories, essays and history of the park
3) A set of postcards featuring images of the park and short poems
4) A map with info about living near the park
5) A link to a short film about the park
We launched the package in April 2025 with a grant from the City of Kelowna Strong Neighbourhoods initiative.
A donation of $15 will provide funds for one package, if you’d like to support this ongoing project!
We are not selling packages but please do contact us if you’d like to have a package for some good community purpose.
